Happy Valley Farmer's Market open for the season!

Picture
The Sunnyside Farmer's Market is open for the season!  The market is open from 9am-3pm every Saturday, rain or shine beginning this Saturday, May 11th through October 5th.  We really enjoyed attending last year, they even had a bounce house at least one week.  I bought some amazing blueberry plants for only $5 each at the end of the season!  Located at 13231 SE Sunnyside Road in the parking lot of the Sunnyside Church.  More details here.

Second Saturday at Zenger Farm (SE Portland)

Speaking of farms... This Saturday is "Second Saturday" at Zenger Farm (a working urban farm in SE Portland).  The second Saturday of each month, the farm is open to the public where you can join a hands-on work party from 10am-12:30pm, take a guided tour from 1-2pm or take a self-guided tour with a map.  You can also just drop in anytime between 10am and 4pm.  The whole experience is free but you do need to RSVP to Prairie at Prairie@ZengerFarm.org.  More information at the Zenger Farms website at http://www.zengerfarm.org/ or call (503) 282-4245.  Check the website out for more information on fun summer camps with lots of different choices and scholarships are available.

Ebates Coupons and Cash Back
Curious but skeptical about cash back for your online shopping?  I have been using Ebates for 2 years and love it.  Super easy and very rewarding!  Click here to check it out!

What to Buy Organic guide + printable wallet reference card

Well it looks like a farm theme this week!  To go along with all that, here is a helpful post I found about what to buy organic/non-GMO.  You can be sure to find at least some of these items at your local farmer's market and/or grocery store.  There is also a link to a printable wallet reference card (I keep one in my shopping list/coupon holder so I always have it with me).  Don't forget about the FREE searchable farm stand guide from the Oregon Farm Bureau

Country Calico Antiques & Craft Market 5/7-5/11

One of my favorite antique and craft markets is open this week, beginning Tuesday, May 7th and ending Saturday, May 11th.  The Country Calico show is a high quality display of antiques and vintage collectibles, linens, spring decor, gourmet foods and more.  It takes place in Clackamas at 13301 SE 172nd off of Sunnyside Road.  Grab a Mom or a friend (or shop for Mom!) and head to the sale this week.  The hours are 9-7 Tuesday-Friday, 9-4 Saturday.  You can call 503-888-3739 for more information.

National Public Garden Day - Leach Botanical included FREE 5/10

A great opportunity to see a beautiful garden for free!  Leach Botanical Garden in SE Portland is participating in National Public Garden Day and the weather is supposed to be nice Friday (at this moment...).  Good for all ages and no registration required.  Take your mom or a friend!  The stone cabin will be open all day and the garden itself is open extended hours from 9am-6pm.  Special guided tours by a Garden Curator and volunteers will be on hand to tell stories and answer questions.  More information here!

Mother's Day Crafts @ Sunnyside Library 5/11

Bring your kiddos to the library for a fun Mother's Day craft session from 10:30-11:30.  The Sunnyside Library is located at 13793 SE Sieben Park Way in Clackamas and there are more fun spring activities here!

One last reminder, if you are still stumped on what to get your mother dearest, check out our Pinterest Board with lots of fabulous finds from Etsy for Mom!  This is my favorite, the mini list taker fromBits N Pieces Etc.  She lives in Yamhill and is a local mom-owned Etsy shop.  Free shipping on all the crayon wallets (which I have been ordering for years) and list takers in her shop right now too!!  Click here to see Charmaine's Etsy shop.
